In the center of Eggedal, you’ll find the heart of the village – a small historic hotel that has welcomed travelers, artists, and locals for generations. In the courtyard stands our new garden pavilion, where restored windows and old brickwork give the room a truly distinctive atmosphere. We also offer dedicated spaces for both meetings and celebrations, and outdoors, you’ll find comfortable seating where you can enjoy sunny days and good food. You’re also welcome to stop by our little general store for homeware and local treats.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPERIENCE IN EGGEDAL?
Eggedal lies in the heart of the Artist Valley, surrounded by mountains and beautiful Norwegian nature – a perfect stopping point on the way to Haglebu or Hallingdal, with a liquor store, a 24-hour grocery store, a petrol station, an antiques dealer, a sports shop and several other local services.
The village offers wonderful hiking opportunities such as the Madonna Trail, miles of ski tracks, and cultural gems like Chr. Skredsvig's Hagan. Just 2.5 hours from Oslo.

THE PAVILION
a little breathing space in the courtyard
The pavilion is a quiet corner of the yard, the kind of place where people tend to linger longer than planned. Pop-up bakeries appear here from time to time, and every so often we open the doors for pizza nights, with the stone oven taking center stage. It's also the perfect spot for small gatherings – informal, unhurried, and just right.
FOOD & DRINK
homemade with care
At Borgerstua, you get food made from scratch, just as people here in the valley have always done. We serve traditional dishes, simple and delicious, along with baked goods that taste like home. We source our ingredients locally whenever we can, and place great emphasis on good service and a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Guests often highlight the taste, the portions, and the atmosphere — earning us very good reviews from both visitors and the media.

Visit Eggedal Mølle or the Hagan The Artist Home of Christian Skredsvig, wander paths that wind through forest and mountain, explore Trillemarka, swim in natural pools, or take to the slopes and ski trails when winter arrives. Everything is close, easy, and within reach.

MEETINGS & SEMINARS

historical settings
The historic surroundings at Eggedal Borgerstue do their part, but just as important is the feeling that everything is arranged exactly as you want it – no stress, no noise. The meeting room seats up to 25 people with overnight accommodation, and with our additional venue in the basement – a large room with technical equipment – we can host up to 70 people for day meetings. If you'd like to round off with lunch or dinner, the pavilion can be reserved for the occasion, with room for up to 35 people.
