In the center of Eggedal, you’ll find the heart of the village – a small historic hotel that has welcomed travelers, artists, and locals for generations. In the courtyard stands our new garden pavilion, where restored windows and old brickwork give the room a truly distinctive atmosphere. We also offer dedicated spaces for both meetings and celebrations, and outdoors, you’ll find comfortable seating where you can enjoy sunny days and good food. You’re also welcome to stop by our little general store for homeware and local treats.

THE ARTISTS' VALLEY
WHAT CAN YOU EXPERIENCE IN EGGEDAL?
Eggedal lies in the heart of the Artists' Valley, surrounded by mountains and beautiful Norwegian nature – a perfect stopping point on the way to Haglebu or Hallingdal, with a liquor store, a 24-hour grocery store, a petrol station, an antiques dealer, a sports shop and several other local services.
The village offers wonderful hiking opportunities such as the Madonna Trail, miles of ski tracks, and cultural gems like Chr. Skredsvig's Hagan. Just 2.5 hours from Oslo.

order baked goods for pickup
Sourdough bread and Madonna buns can be ordered for pickup every day.
Praline buns, school buns and other baked goods are made on set pickup days. Order online by 4 pm the day before, and pick up between 11 am and 8 pm.
Next pickup days: Friday 30 October, Friday 27 November and Friday 11 December.

THE PAVILION
the pavilion – a quiet corner of the courtyard
The pavilion is a quiet corner of the yard, the kind of place where people tend to linger longer than planned. Pop-up bakeries appear here from time to time, and every so often we open the doors for pizza nights, with the stone oven taking center stage. It's also the perfect spot for small gatherings – informal, unhurried, and just right.

At Borgerstua, you get food made from scratch, just as people here in the valley have always done. We serve traditional dishes, simple and delicious, along with baked goods that taste like home. We source our ingredients locally whenever we can, and place great emphasis on good service and a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Guests often highlight the taste, the portions, and the atmosphere — earning us very good reviews from both visitors and the media.

Here in the valley, great experiences are never far away, whether you want to take it easy or fill your day with impressions and activities. Visit Eggedal Mølle or Hagan, the artist’s home of Christian Skredsvig, wander paths that wind through forest and mountain, explore Trillemarka, swim in natural pools, or take to the slopes and ski trails when winter arrives. Everything is close, easy, and within reach.

MEETINGS & SEMINARS
meeting venues in historic surroundings
The historic surroundings at Eggedal Borgerstue do their part, but what matters just as much is that everything is set up the way you want it – no fuss, no noise. We have meeting venues for everything from board meetings to seminars. The meeting room seats up to 25 with overnight stays, and our large basement venue, with technical equipment, takes up to 70 for day meetings. If you would like to round off with lunch or dinner, the pavilion can be reserved for up to 35 guests. Get in touch by email or through the contact form, and we will get back to you shortly.
